I’ve had the privilege to be the founder of Amelia’s Closet and Liberty’s Station in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, two nonprofit programs under the umbrella of The Collective at Building Hope that helps people overcome barriers to employment and discover hope, dignity, and purpose through meaningful work.
Before stepping into nonprofit leadership, I enjoyed a career in graphic design, taught high school photojournalism, and coached fast-pitch softball for eleven seasons. In 2014, I stepped out of my comfort zone and ventured into social entrepreneurship, never imagining how profoundly that journey would shape my life and faith.
I love sharing what I’ve learned along the way about finding purpose, perseverance through challenges, and the power of faith in action.
I’ve been married 37 years to my best friend, Joel. I am Mom to two amazing adult children and Nana to eight exceptional grandchildren – all of whom have helped me become a recovering perfectionist.
After years of nonprofit work, I’ve learned that the greatest lessons were found when God reminded me that His plans are bigger than mine.
Whatever season you’re in, I challenge you to join me in Daring to Take God at His Word.
